Aumack Simmentals from Spiritwood Saskatchewan

We are a Simmental breeding establishment whose main focus is raising Simmental bulls that will have a positive impact within the breeding programs of their new owners and the cattle industry in general.

Our goal is to raise functional cattle that fit the needs of today’s cattle industry. We believe integrity is the key to developing and maintaining repeat customers in the bull business. We will not market a bull that we would not use in our own commercial herd.
All bulls sold are semen tested and come with a breeding guarantee. We keep a number of “back up bulls” for emergency situations, as getting your cows bred are a number one priority.

In the process of raising bulls, half of the calf crop will be females. We retain the top half of these females using a rigorous selection process. We market a few elite females through “The Source” of elite genetics sale in Lloydminster. The rest are transitioned into our breeding herd.
We keep a herd of commercial cows which gives us a hands on approach of keeping in touch with the needs and reality of the commercial cattle industry.

We are retaining our commercial cowherd of around 30 females and a handful of embryo calves born last winter. We have implanted a few frozen embryos this past spring, so we will still be involved in the Simmental business, only in a more labour reduced, relaxed atmosphere.

Haskap

Haskaps are a new and exciting venture for our operation. We believe they are the fruit of the future for western Canada because of how well they are adapted to our climate.
We presently market our Haskaps through processed jam and topping. We have sampled wine made from Haskaps and it is absolutely incredible. This will be added to our list of products in the future.
